Saw this at turners auctions before it appeared on TM. What a joke. Turners had it listed as a Simca 1000.

Yes. According to "Carjam" the car is a Simca 1000 and the chassis plate pictured on the "Lotus" on TM matches a Simca 1000. Just hope someone doesn't get their "fingers badly burnt" with this "genuine Lotus".

As long as they read the questions and have half a brain, they'll be alright. Interestingly, Trademe have no interest in doing anything about fraudulent listings....

Not quite true. They will stop you listing a clearly labelled Lotus 7 REPLICA in the Lotus category, but they are ok with a provably non Lotus/Steelbros vehicle being advertised as genuine :-)
