Carrier for Sportscar Body AKL-CHC

Post by 7ish » Tue Oct 28, 2014 1:45 pm

Hi,
it's a long shot, but would anybody know of a carrier who would shift my recently purchased sylva phoenix body shell from AKL-CHC? I have rung around several movers, but no-one is interested. It would be about 1.7x1.6x1.0, weight about 50kgs I guess.
Thanks, 7ish.

Try shipping fron onehunga. Cost me $250 to have a shuttle trailer sent from CH Ch to onehunga.

How about a cheeky call to a couple of furniture removal companies? Years ago my mate worked for one and they regularly had empty trucks on the return trip. A Chch company relocating a family to Auckland might want to indulge in a bit of cost recovery. Or maybe calculate how big it would be in a crate and see if their attitudes change with a more 'stock' shape? A bit of a long shop but maybe keep an eye out for trailers or trucks being sold on Trademe and try to find one heading south. My old Lotus Europa came up from Chch on the trailer of a guy who was coming up to Auckland to trailer a Mini Cooper home.

Have you tried Straight Freight? I moved my whole 7 on a Gib pallet from AKL to CHCH

Found Harris Transport... door to door service for $399 inc. Can't beat that.

Thanks for the suggestions.
