Carbon Fibre work in Chch

Post by Talkiet » Tue Oct 20, 2015 4:27 pm

A good friend of mine who is an aircraft engineer (and whose actual job involves CF layup amongst other things) is setting up a small business doing little bits of CF work. I'm getting him to fix up the CF parts on my car (cracks on the cycle guards and the finish on the intake is way gone) and wondered if there would be enough interest in CF parts for him to consider making up some moulds for various parts.

I'll update with photos of the before and after.

Well after a small 120kmh incident with a large cone, the front left guard needed some work so I have given all the CF bits (except for the dash) to my mate and he's doing the restoration at the moment. He's going to add a layer to the intake and take a mold from the remaining good cycle wing and make 2 new guards. Here are some before pics (But these were before the little hit as well)

Oh, and this is the hit :-)

I'll add some 'after' shots when I get them back.

Neil, do you want the mold for that scoop?
I still have it, it might save a bit of mucking around
