Toppo's new ride

Post by toppo » Sat Jan 20, 2018 11:12 am

since selling my Dixon a few years ago I've always had the urge to have another 7. I've always fancied the classic looking cars so kept my eye out.
This one popped up on trade me so I did some home work. It's a Leitch Supersprint that Barry built as his own car as a demonstrator for the Japanese market back in 1992. It's running a 16v 4age with a link computer and t50 5 speed, escort rear end with disk brake conversion and a quafe LSD. Spax coilovers all round.
Has had a few owners since then and it's condition reflects that. It's been no shed queen that's for sure.
Flew from Dunedin to Hamilton to pick it up . 1300km over 2 days and it's now in my garage. ImageImageImageImage

I was going a bit to fast just south of Waiouru. Good buggar cop had a 15min roadside chat about the car and my trip then wished me a safe journey with a friendly warning. No ticket

A nice as your Dixon was, I far prefer your Leitch - very nice! I had chassis no2 and should never have sold it.

A couple of articles.... The LE1TCH car is yours, it certainly had that plate when the article was written.
